How to Find Your Life Purpose, Part 3

Yay! You’ve made it to Life Purpose Part 3! Coming to the realization of the work you are here to do is exciting! I’m so glad that you have made it this far! Once you have all of the information, it is up to you to take action.

Make sure to grab your notes from Life Purpose Part 1 and Part 2. If you haven’t been through Parts 1 and 2 yet, do that first then come back to Part 3 because this is where we will put it all together.

As we begin I want you to know that I’m not here to give you the answers or tell you what to do. I’m simply here to guide you through the steps and process so you can empower yourself and discover your own answers.

Print the worksheets out and let’s dig in!

Pattern Recognition

I’m sure by now you’ve began noticing patterns in your answers from Life Purpose Part 1 and the research notes in Life Purpose Part 2. You may have even began to compare the notes from each and noticed repeating words and phrases emerging.

Here’s what you’re going to do… On your worksheet, make a list of any words, phrases, and descriptions that are coming up over and over. For example, if “nurturing” comes up more than two times put it on your list. Whatever the words/ phrases are, write them down. this will begin to help clear out the “noise”. (Sometimes too many options makes things confusing, by making a list you are condensing the notes.) Make sure not to over think it, just make your list, we will condense it even more in a minute.

Prepare To Hone In

And before we begin this next part, take a moment to take a few deep breaths to help you get clear minded and centered.

As you begin looking over your Pattern Recognition list, circle, highlight, or star* any words and phrases that resonate with you.

After you are done marking your PR list you are going to take ownership of those descriptions and characteristics. SO, after you have the words and phrases marked, start saying them in sentences such as ‘I am a nurturer’ or ‘I enjoy nurturing others’. Pay attention to how it feels in your body when you say the sentences. If one feels really good write it on your Honing In list. If something feels scary, write it down. The reason you want to write the scary stuff down is because we are here to do work, not everything in our life purpose is meant to be easy. If it was, we would all be living our purposes. Leave space in between each one because we are going to add to it in the next step.

And Finally!

With the words and phrases on your Honing In list, write down a few ways to fulfill your life purpose. Google people who are doing this in a non-traditional way. You can start following blogs, social media pages and YouTube channels that have to do with your purpose. Make sure you are keeping an open mind. And if a traditional route seems more appealing to you, follow that. Research how you can start moving in that direction. Imagine yourself as the person in the role of the people you are following or as the person with that job and doing the work.

Begin taking steps in the direction of your life purpose, whether they are baby steps or giant leaps doesn’t matter.

As we end this, please keep in mind that the way we live our purpose at 20 is going to be different than how we live it at 40. We are constantly changing and evolving. So appreciate where you are now and know you are growing more into YourSelf everyday.
